Trench, meet Rain...meet Moat

After I posted the proud photo of me busting my guns in my garden, some people somehow thought I was electively digging a trench (*achem* Guillermo, *achem* Jon). ;)  I finally got the garden area dug up (while getting mental offers from others to visit insane asylum, I'm sure) and split into beds.  All in all, I have planted onions, carrots, corn, tomatoes, lettuce, cabbage, pumpkin, cauliflower, hibiscus, pigeon pea, jews mallow, millet, and something else :p forgot the name.  It's a bush that I can't eat, so I guess the name isn't that important.  Malawi has changed colors from brown to green and it's such a gorgeous time of year.  Things are growing and becoming a beautiful and thus I wanted to share.  In time, I hope this whole area will be exploding with delicious veggies and I'll put on my sunhat and pull rubber boots (read: barefeet) to go bounce around in the dirt.  I'll update more as goodies pop up!  And as Jon pointed out, I now have moats when it rains instead of one massive trench.  Can't win ;)

Trench...to beds...to moat :)

Pumpkin!  Some day...

Corn!!!

...need a bath?

No particular reason for this one, except it being
an awesomely huge mango that was soooo delicious!
